Happy New Year!
As TRI moves into 2017, we're saying goodbye to two of our valued staff members.
Carol Dennis
 Carol Dennis, TRI’s Digital Media Specialist, retired at the end of 2016.
For the past several years, Carol has been our resident story teller. Her gift for capturing the why behind what we do is evident in the many articles she wrote for our website, the podcasts she developed, and the videos she created. Her commitment, enthusiasm, and talent is evident in everything she does, and we are grateful she chose to share those gifts with us.
Carol has been a member of Actors Equity Association since 1973 and has enjoyed being involved in her local theatre community. In retirement, Carol will continue to pursue this passion in the form of her own theatre company. We look forward to attending her plays and are excited to see what she’ll do next.
We wish Carol all the best in her new adventures!
Amy Parker
 Dr. Amy Parker will be leaving The Research Institute at Western Oregon University effective January 6, 2017. Amy and her family are wishing to be nearer to family in the Southeast.
We thank Amy for her dedication to the National Center on Deaf-Blindness and TRI. Her many contributions to the field of deaf-blindness have advanced knowledge and increased the number of professionals with access to this important information. Amy’s contributions to WOU and TRI through publications, presentations and service on the WOU Institutional Research Board have been invaluable.
"I am happy to have worked with so many talented and passionate colleagues at TRI," Amy said. "Particularly, I have enjoyed learning and sharing at Bagels and Bites gatherings. I enjoyed our holiday door decorating contests. I love visits from the children in the CDC classrooms for trick or treating and caroling during holiday times. I'm proud to have developed collaborative partnerships with faculty at the College of Education and on WOU's IRB. I've particularly loved working with young professionals who have been students at WOU and seeing their commitment, passion and efforts that have contributed to the field of deaf-blindness."
